Legal Help For Denied Disability Claims
When you are disabled and unable to work, disability benefits can provide you with financial stability.
When your claim has been denied, that’s where I come in.
I am attorney Arthur J. Branan Jr. From my law office in Alexandria, I help people who are seeking appeals of denied Social Security Disability (SSD) claims. A free consultation is available for you to get the information you need to move forward with an appeal. Please complete this online contact form to schedule your appointment.
The Appeals Process In Louisiana
Louisiana is unique in how it handles SSD claim appeals. Most states have a reconsideration process that follows the initial claim denial. But Louisiana has been part of a pilot program for more than 12 years that has eliminated the reconsideration step. Rather, if a claimant wants to seek an appeal, a hearing must be requested.
If your SSD claim has been denied in Louisiana, it is important to work with a lawyer during the appeals process — especially since reconsideration is no longer an option. I can help you with the following:
- Requesting a hearing
- Gathering medical evidence
- Completing all paperwork
- Meeting important deadlines
- Answering your questions along the way
- And much, much more
SSD Cessation Cases
Have you received a letter notifying you that your SSD benefits will be terminated? I can help you take steps to ensure that you continue receiving the benefits you need.
If you want to continue receiving benefits while your appeal is pending, you have only 10 days to request an appeal and a continuation of your benefits. If your appeal is unsuccessful, you will have to repay the benefits that were paid to you while your appeal was pending. Please contact me if you have any questions about this.
